Meet Dave
All In The Family
Dave Voss grew up on the east side of St. Paul alongside his twin brother, older brother, and sister. You could say it was the golden age – street hockey, tackle football, you name it. The only obligation? Be home before the streetlights come on. Dave sought the same type of neighborhood and atmosphere for his own kids. After marrying his high school sweetheart and starting a family, they settled down within Cottage Grove in 2003.
Throughout conversations at ballfields, rinks, hotels and cabins, Dave and his friends wished they had a great bar & grill to call their own. A place to meet up for gameday, special occasions, or just a great night out. Inspired by those conversations, Dave connected with Joel & Jason and J70 was born. The cool thing? Along with new friends and families, those same friends who were there from day one are still enjoying it to this day. For Dave it’s come full circle. His three (3) sons work at J70, and it continues to be a home away from home for friends, family, and neighbors around Cottage Grove and the East Metro.
Meet Joel
Minnesota Born & Raised
Born & raised right here in Minnesota, Joel Lehman has been in the restaurant business for 27 years, and a resident of Cottage Grove for the past 21. Alongside fellow “hockey degenerate” David, he knew the town was craving a place that served legit food & drinks, was close to home, and had a family-friendly atmosphere.
The good news? The city couldn’t have agreed more! Soon after, Junction 70 Grill opened its doors in 2017. 8 years later – and stronger than ever – Joel continues to see the impact the restaurant is having with not only Cottage Grove residents, but people from all over the East Metro.
Meet Jason
With 30+ years in the industry, Jason has invaluable insights into what makes a restaurant successful. He’s worked his way up the ranks from Server to Bar Manager, and finally his current position as Operations Manager at Junction 70 Grill.
When Joel approached him about J70, he agreed Cottage Grove needed that kind of place and hasn’t looked back since. Like Joel and David, he appreciates the small-town feel Cottage Grove has to offer, and is happy to return the favor by running a restaurant East Metro residents are proud to call their own.
